Unless you plan on investing in both a bullet feeder and case feeder setup, Dillon's 550B will do everything you want for less money and nearly as fast. Once you get into the automated case and bullet feeds though, the true progressive "power" of the XL650 shows, and it'll blow the manually indexed 550B out of the water.

By shortening the tube down to 5″ overall, I was able to accommodate the taller press (Dillon XL-650) and also the taller bullet feed die (Hornady die is taller compared to the RCBS bullet feed die). The shoulder was turned down to 0.473″ so that it would fit nicely (slight drag when inserting) into the top of the Hornady Bullet feed die.

One significant thing I considered when buying is the Hornady product availability on the shelves locally at Sportsmans, Bass Pro etc. Looking back I probably would be just as satisfied with a Dillon 650, but I'm certain the startup cost with Hornady is lower, and since everything can be acquired at local stores it makes for a convenient buy.

The Hornady bullet feeder is really reliable and worked great on my LNL AP. You have a couple of challenges mounting the Hornady Bullet Feeder next to the Dillon 650 since the bullet feeder mounts to the bench, not the press itself. First, the die plate on the 650 is 4" higher than the LNL AP. If you are using the "strong mount" it is even higher.
